How to Become a Member of the Madison Civics Club

Anyone can become a member.  Simply print and fill out the form linked below and mail it in with your check.

The 2009-2010 membership fee is $100.  This includes the cost of all five luncheon meetings for the season. Contributing Membership ($150) and Sustaining Membership ($200) are categories for those willing to give an additional amount to support the increasing costs of the ongoing operations of the Madison Civics Club. Or, you can be a "Friend of the Club" by donating any amount above the membership fee. Now that we have attained 501(c)(3) status, donations above the $100 membership fee may be claimed as charitable deductions.

A New Policy was adopted, at the last meeting of the 2008-2009 Civics Club Board, to allow members who must miss a Civics Club meeting to give their seat to another person for a transfer fee of $5.   Rationale: the board has been listening to members' requests for this privilege for some time and we recognize that the downturn in the economy is affecting most of us.   Concern: the board has always realized that a paid membership with an occasional missed meeting allows us to cover our expenses while keeping dues low.   We hope that the new policy will encourage many hesitant members to rejoin.   If it does not and the new privilege is exercised extensively, it may mean that we cannot meet our expenses.   An increase in dues or a return to the previous policy would then be necessary.
